Welcome to St. Roch Catholic Church! Whether you are new to our parish, returning after some time away, or visiting with us for the first time, we are grateful that God has led you here.
St. Roch is a community rooted in faith, centered on the Eucharist, and committed to sharing Christ's love with one another and our neighbors. We strive to be a welcoming parish family where people of all ages can grow in their relationship with God through worship, prayer, service, and fellowship.
Our parish is named after St. Roch, a 14th-century saint known for his extraordinary faith, compassion, and service to those suffering from illness. During a time when plague devastated many communities throughout Europe, St. Roch dedicated his life to caring for the sick, often placing their needs before his own. Tradition tells us that God worked many miraculous healings through his prayers and intercession. After contracting the plague himself, St. Roch withdrew to the woods to avoid infecting others. There, according to tradition, a faithful dog brought him bread each day and remained by his side until he recovered.
Because of this story, St. Roch is honored not only as the patron saint of the sick, those suffering from infectious diseases, caregivers, and those seeking healing, but also as the patron saint of dogs and dog lovers. He is often depicted in artwork accompanied by a dog carrying a loaf of bread, a symbol of God's providence and faithful companionship. His life reminds us that God cares for us in unexpected ways and calls us to show compassion to all of His creation.
As a parish bearing his name, we strive to live out St. Roch's legacy through prayer, service, and care for our neighbors. We invite you to become involved in the life of our parish. From liturgical ministries and faith formation to social events and outreach opportunities, there are many ways to share your gifts and connect with fellow parishioners.
As we journey together in faith, may St. Roch be a place where you encounter Christ, build meaningful relationships, and find support and encouragement in your spiritual life.
If there is any way we can assist you, please do not hesitate to contact the parish office. We are honored to walk with you on your faith journey.
May St. Roch intercede for you and your family, and may God bless you abundantly.
